Goals

seedlings Bouquets and Blueberry Gardens

First Season

Our goal, our intentions for the first season was to start off small and learn the needs of the varieties of plants we want to grow as cut flowers. Start from the ground up by building and nurturing the soil. The soil has been tested and we are adding mineral amendments. We sourced local organic compost to add to the gardens. We have started a small blueberry patch. The plan for the future is to have between 275-300 blueberry plants. 2023 the cultivated gardens will encompass .5 acres. Retail management is now in the past. Hopefully together our tiny habitat and our farming skills will grow to be a sustainable, vibrant part of the community.

Second Season

The second season started with the addition of a 12’ x 16’ heated greenhouse for seed sowing and seedling propagation. The season ending with the construction of 20’ x 48’ high tunnel for undercover growing and season extension. High tunnel cultivation is a new adventure for us. There will be lots of trial by error. Hopefully, the learning curve travels in the right direction. The goal is to extend our growing season by 6-8 weeks. Offering blooms for our customers earlier in the spring (mother’s day) and later in the fall into November.
